For food, two of my personal kid-friendly favorites are Edley’s barbecue in 12 South for lunch or dinner, and Sam & Zoe’s in Berry Hill for coffee and breakfast. For a fun snack or dessert, Las Paletas is a delicious place our son Ian likes to go. If we’re looking for a nicer, kid-free night out, I absolutely love Sinema. The atmosphere, the food, and the drinks are top notch. We have so many different options nearby it’s hard to try them all, but we do love to pick new places when we have a night out alone together. Husk and Cork and Cow are next on my list.
For fitness, Charlie and I have both found our home at Real Change Crossfit located in Nippers Corner. If you live in the area or are just in town, drop in and join us for a class! Our owners and coaches are extremely knowledgeable, supportive and have become family to us. I definitely could not have gotten back into shape as quickly as I have without their help and attention they give Ian.
Charlie is a big mountain biker, so he loves to ride the trails at Percy Warner Park. When it’s not too hot, Ian and I like to go walk or hike while he’s riding. The park is just so beautiful, peaceful and a must visit. Some of our other favorites include: Crockett Park, Sevier Park and Radnor Lake Park.
On to one of my favorite things: fashion. The fashion industry has really grown so much in Nashville over the last few years, and I love that we have so many local boutiques to shop. A few of my personal favorites are HeyleeB. in Franklin, Vinnie Louise in East Nashville, any of our Blush Boutique locations and Revv in Hillsboro Village. I will admit that I have a much harder time getting out to these boutiques since our little dude doesn’t like to sit still long enough for me to shop and try on clothes. Therefore, I am definitely guilty of a lot of online shopping!
Nashville has a lot going on these days, so there is always a festival, concert or sporting event going on downtown. We try to make it to at least one Titans game each year, and I cannot wait until Ian is old enough to enjoy going. My favorite venue for concerts hands down is the Ryman Auditorium. Although, I haven’t gotten to go to a concert at our new outdoor amphitheater, I’m sure it’s a great too. With so many festivals to choose from downtown Nashville and Franklin, there is always something family friendly to do. We decided to try out the Music City Hot Chicken Festival a few weeks ago, and it was delicious! I am so thankful to live in such a wonderful city, and I look forward to many more memories our family will get to make #livingtn. 🙂
